Fjällnäs has for 130 years been an exclusive mountain hotel and the preferred retreat for Swedish royalty. The idea behind Fjällnäs has always been to establish a mountain hotel where you can experience the areas continual, dramatic changes of nature. Due to these changes during a year, the locals has since ancient times split the year into eight seasons, each with its own special signs and signals. The visual identity is therefore build around a circle that symbolizes the eight seasons and their different and unique characters.
The visual identity helped Fjällnäs to be recognized throughout the world, and in 2009 The New York Times had Fjällnäs on the 6th place on their prestigious list of The 44 Places To Go.
